About this policy
This policy explains how you pay for a NicoCares plan, when you are charged, how renewal, pausing and cancelling work, and when we give a refund. It forms part of our terms. How we handle your payment information is set out in our privacy policy.
How you pay
Payments are processed by Stripe on its secure checkout page. You can pay with a major credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or another method Stripe offers; the methods available to you are the ones the checkout page shows. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us: we receive confirmation of the plan you chose and of the payment method, not your card number. Prices are in US dollars.
Plans and prices
Each plan has a length, and longer plans cost less per month. Before you pay, the checkout shows the plan's length, its total price, its price per month and what it includes. The price per month is there so you can compare plans; you pay for the whole length at once.
Your subscription includes your clinician's review of your answers, your prescription if one is written, and delivery from the pharmacy.
When you are charged
Each plan is billed once for its full length at checkout, when you subscribe. An active plan is required before your answers are reviewed and a physician is assigned, so you pay before the physician's review. By subscribing you commit to the full length of the plan you choose.
Paying for a plan does not mean you will be prescribed anything. A physician licensed in your state decides whether treatment is appropriate for you. If they decide it is not, you can ask for a refund, as described below.
Renewal
When a plan reaches the end of its length, it renews automatically for the same length at the price then shown for that plan, and the renewal is billed once, on your next billing date, unless you cancel before that date. We email you a reminder before a renewal charge. If the price of your plan changes, we tell you before the new price applies, and you can cancel before it does.
Pausing your plan
You can pause your plan and resume it later. To pause or resume, message your care team in your account or email [email protected].
- While your plan is paused, nothing ships and no charge is made. Prescriptions and refills are on hold until it restarts.
- The time you have already paid for carries over. It resumes when your plan does, and your next billing date moves later by the length of the pause.
- As at any time, a refill may depend on a check-in your physician reviews.
Cancelling
To cancel, email [email protected] from the address on your account, or message your care team in your account, before your next billing date.
- Cancelling stops your plan from renewing. No further charges are made after you cancel.
- Your current plan runs to the end of the length you paid for. The time left on it is not refunded, except as described under refunds below.
- To stop a renewal, your cancellation must reach us before the next billing date. A renewal already billed is a new plan payment, covered by the refund terms below.
Refunds
Plans are billed in full and are non-refundable, except in the exceptional cases below, where we give a refund after reviewing your request:
- Treatment not prescribed. A physician decides not to prescribe treatment for you.
- Side effects. You have side effects severe enough that you cannot continue treatment.
An approved refund covers the part of your plan that has not shipped. When nothing has shipped, that is the whole plan. Medication that has been dispensed cannot be returned or refunded, because a pharmacy cannot take back dispensed prescription medicine.
To ask for a refund, email [email protected] from the address on your account, or message your care team, and tell us what happened. We review each request and may ask your care team about it. An approved refund goes back to the payment method you paid with, through Stripe, and your bank may take five to ten business days to show it.
If a payment does not go through
If a renewal payment does not go through, your plan may be paused until a payment does. Email us and we will help.
Billing questions and disputes
If you believe you were charged in error, email us and we will review the charge with you. Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank, so we can put it right quickly; doing so does not take away any right your card issuer gives you.
Nothing in this policy limits a right to a refund or a cancellation that the law where you live gives you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we post the new version here and update its effective date. If a change is material, we email account holders before it takes effect.
